Confirmed
In Short: Russian strikes killed three people, including a child, and injured seven others in Kyiv and surrounding areas, according to Ukrainian officials.

Russian strikes early Wednesday killed three people, including a child, and injured seven others in Kyiv and the surrounding region, according to Ukrainian officials.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said fires broke out affecting private houses, a store, and a warehouse. Kyiv regional governor Tymur Tkachenko reported that a Russian missile and a drone strike damaged infrastructure facilities, houses, warehouses, and cars.
The attacks come amid an escalation of Russian drone and missile strikes on Ukraine. On Tuesday, Russian glide bombs struck homes and a school in the northern city of Sumy, killing two and injuring six.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy condemned the strikes, calling the attackers 'Russian terrorists and simply unhinged scumbags.' He emphasized the need for international pressure on Russia to stop the attacks.
Zelenskiy also said talks were proceeding to ensure Ukraine has a supply of missiles for the Patriot air defense system, which plays a critical role in intercepting Russian ballistic missiles.
Tests are continuing to improve the efficiency of Ukrainian interceptors against Russian jet-powered drones, which fly higher and faster than conventional drones. Of more than 100 Russian drones deployed on Tuesday, 29 were jet-powered, and 18 were downed.
Emergency services flooded the area, and armed officers cordoned off surrounding streets following the attack. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko put the injury count at nine.
The strike marks the tenth consecutive day of Russian drone attacks on Kyiv. Eighty-one companies are now authorized to form private air defense units, up from 51 in mid-July.
Ukrainian forces also struck three ground control stations for Russian drones, alongside other targets, the General Staff said.
President Vladimir Putin has described the election as a test of public support for Russian troops fighting in Ukraine, addressing the country on television before voting began.
