What's confirmed
- Russian aerial incursions into Moldovan territory during attacks against Ukraine are becoming alarmingly routine, with five Russian drones and missiles exploding on Moldova's territory on Oct. 3 alone.
- Ukraine’s air force said it destroyed or suppressed 131 Russian aerial targets during the overnight attack in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia and Odesa regions.
What's still developing
- INSP: "People underestimate the risk" Nearly 10,000 drivers were fined for using their mobile phones while driving since the beginning of this year.
- Russian strikes launched against Ukraine overnight into Saturday included 27 ballistic missiles and only one of them was intercepted, “simply because there are no interceptors for the Patriot system”, Zelenskyy said.
- “Our targets are consistently defined facilities that sustain the war effort,” Zelenskyy said.
- Russia’s only registered anti-war party, Yabloko – “Apple” in Russian – was briefly allowed to take part before being barred by the Supreme Court last month from the federal party-lists election.
- The deal temporarily undoes US sanctions on energy imports, which Zelensky described as a "gift" to Russian President Vladimir Putin. UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Britain "strongly supports President Trump's call today for a sustained energy ceasefire to start now", while France, Canada and the EU also expressed support. However, there has been a mixed response among European officials. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the bloc would welcome an energy ceasefire "when it holds". Kallas said at a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Monday: "We haven't yet seen that also Russia will stick to it."
