Google Expands Gemini Capabilities With File Generation and Connected Apps
· Confirmed
In Short: Google announced the Connected Apps Platform and new file generation features in the Gemini app, allowing developers to integrate their apps into Gemini and Search.

Google today unveiled the Connected Apps Platform, enabling developers to integrate their apps directly into Gemini and Search, according to 9To5Google.
Developers can choose whether their apps will appear in Search, the Gemini app, or both, and the Gemini app now includes a new Customize page as part of its recent redesign.
In addition to the Gemini app, Google will soon make existing Connected Apps available in Search, expanding the reach of these applications.
Google also introduced Gemini 4 Argon, the flagship model of its Gemini 4 generation, which is now available to a vetted group of cyber defenders.
Gemini 4 Argon features a one-million-token output context window, a significant increase over the 64,000-token ceiling of previous models.
The new model is available to Google AI Pro subscribers at $20 per month, AI Ultra subscribers at $99 per month, and enterprise developers through the Gemini API.
Gemini 4 Argon is designed to handle heavyweight reasoning tasks in the cloud, such as video analysis and physics simulation code generation, while a separate on-device model handles time-sensitive motor control.
The Gemini app now allows users to generate, preview, and edit various file types directly within a chat, including documents, PDFs, presentations, spreadsheets, Markdown, plain text files, and code.
A microphone icon has been added to the Gemini app, alongside the camera and 'Create New' floating action button.
Gemini 4 Argon has demonstrated advanced capabilities, such as controlling a Boston Dynamics Spot quadruped to learn new skills, outperforming other frontier models.
The Connected Apps Platform and file generation features in the Gemini app are designed to enhance user experience and developer integration, according to 9To5Google.
