President Donald Trump held a campaign rally at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, to bolster Republican candidates and support Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's push for the U.S. Senate.

During the rally, Trump criticized incumbent Congressman Cuellar, labeling him as a 'low-life' and urging conservative voters to defeat him as 'payback' for his perceived betrayal.

Trump dismissed hecklers at the rally, asserting that they were 'paid protesters' funded by foreign entities. He also mocked James Talarico, the Democratic candidate for Senate, repeatedly referring to him as 'Talafreako' and criticizing his record on immigration, energy policy, and child gender mutilation.

Trump announced that starting the next day, over 20 million seniors on Medicare would receive checks or deposits for over $100 each. He also highlighted his record of bringing Democrats and Republicans together to pass 60 bipartisan bills, including those that lower the cost of housing, childcare, and prescription drugs.

Paxton's campaign spokesperson stated that Talarico had gone 11 days without making a public appearance, emphasizing that the Democrat had been absent from the campaign trail. Talarico's campaign spokesperson JT Ennis told Fox News Digital that Talarico had been sick with the flu but was expected to return to the campaign trail that weekend.

Talarico's campaign spokesperson also noted that Talarico had been working to protect the Texas Promise plan, an economic vision to put thousands of dollars back into the pockets of hardworking Texans.

A New York Times-Siena University poll put Talarico at 51% and Paxton at 45%, a 6-point lead, while a Beacon Research and Shaw and Company poll showed Talarico at 51% and Paxton at 49%, a 2-point lead.

Trump called Paxton 'the greatest attorney general in the United States of America' and urged voters to support his Senate bid.

The rally, which began at 6 p.m. local time, was partly to boost Republican candidates ahead of the midterms next month.
