Breece Hall returns to the New York Jets' lineup after missing five games with a quad injury, joining a backfield where Braelon Allen has emerged as a productive option.

Coach Aaron Glenn confirmed Wilson's absence after he was injured in last Sunday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jeremy Chinn on an 15-yard catch.

Wilson leads the team with 43 catches and 527 yards, and his 63 targets are second in the AFC.

Hall's return adds experience to the backfield, though Allen's recent production raises questions about how the carries will be divided.

Offensive coordinator Frank Reich described Hall and Allen as “two number one backs,” though he called Hall “our guy” and said the split will be decided in the flow of the game.

Adonai Mitchell had a breakout performance last week against Las Vegas, catching seven passes for a career-high 142 yards and a touchdown in his second game back after missing four with a finger injury.

Mitchell and rookie Omar Cooper will be the Jets’ top wideouts this weekend as the team prepares for Sunday's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wilson, who has been a Jet since 2022, will not seek a trade from the club, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.

Trade talks are heating up across the league, and teams in the Jets' position are being looked at as potential sellers at the deadline.

Rosenblatt highlights Jets OLB Will McDonald IV as their top potential trade candidate, noting they held on to him despite interest from other teams at last year’s deadline.

What this adds

Wilson's absence is a tough blow for an offense that will get running back Breece Hall back in the lineup.

The Jets plan to use both Hall and Braelon Allen in the backfield.

Coach Glenn confirmed that Hall, linebacker David Bailey, and tight end Mason Taylor are all set to play.
