Enough Phone Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Compact Smartphone
· Confirmed
In Short: The Enough Phone, a compact smartphone with a 5.3-inch display, has launched a Kickstarter campaign with a pledge goal of $200,000 CAD.

The Enough Phone, a compact smartphone with a 5.3-inch display, has launched a Kickstarter campaign with a pledge goal of $200,000 CAD. The campaign starts at USD 399, while the company targets a USD 599 retail price for the device, which is set to launch in May 2027.
The Enough Phone combines a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 processor with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, targeting buyers looking for a smaller Android phone with modern hardware and a user-replaceable battery. The handset measures 132.8 x 63.8 x 12mm, closely matching the dimensions of Apple's iPhone 13 Mini, although it is slightly thicker.
The campaign page is upfront about the hardware in its own photos, noting that the phone in the photos is a non-working prototype. The team behind the project, Austin Boer, Brennan Jordan, and William Stults, says software updates are planned through 2032, though this should be treated as a stated plan for a phone that doesn’t work yet, not a guarantee.
More than 7,700 people had signed up to follow the project on its campaign page, with the company calling the response from customers “nothing short of extraordinary.” The $200,000 CAD goal will pay the three-person team and get the device into the hands of those who are also tired of smartphones by Q1 or Q2 2027.
The Enough Phone is not a flagship killer but is likely 'enough' for most users, offering a modern alternative to the compact devices that have largely disappeared from the market. The company built the prototype out of a garage and later a basement when the garage got too cold.
The Kickstarter campaign starts at USD 399 for the first 250 backers, with the planned retail price after the campaign being $599. At $399 to $599 for a Dimensity 7500 with 8GB and 128GB, you’re paying for the small size and the swappable battery, not the chip.
While the Enough Phone is making waves, Apple’s first folding phone, the iPhone Duo, has been the talk of the town since its launch last month. The iPhone Duo hit stores around the world with a price tag of about $2,000, marking a significant departure from previous iPhone launches.
The Enough Phone’s launch comes at a time when the market is seeing a resurgence in interest for compact and minimalist devices, as users seek alternatives to the larger, more feature-heavy smartphones that dominate the market.
