Melania Trump emphasized the importance of choosing 'humanity over war' and called on both sides to continue working towards peace, as reported by the Independent.

In her remarks, Melania Trump said that the ceasefire wouldn't have been possible without the cooperation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to Justthenews and Kyivpost.

Kirill Dmitriev, Vladimir Putin’s special envoy, thanked Melania Trump on behalf of the Russian leader, as reported by NBC News.

The meeting follows a six-day cease-fire in and around the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky, which Melania Trump said she helped broker to allow humanitarian aid deliveries and the evacuation of vulnerable civilians, as reported by Oilprice.

Both Al Jazeera and Justthenews agree that Melania Trump played a significant role in mediating the ceasefire and hosting the representatives, despite differing accounts of who brokered the truce.
