Users can import their own LUTs and fonts, customize keyboard shortcuts, and access Instagram’s licensed audio library.

Instagram’s Edits for Mac supports multi-track editing, advanced color grading tools, and 4K watermark-free export.

Matthew Simari, who leads Edits, said users can connect their preferred agent, including Meta's Muse, and move between agent-driven and manual editing.

Instagram says it will continue to grow the mobile Edits app for the more than 50 million creators who use it.

Instagram’s Edits for Mac is designed to receive weekly updates and is asking users for feedback to help shape future improvements.

The app’s multi-track editing capabilities allow users to set keyframes for dynamic transitions, monitor audio waveforms for accurate cuts, and adjust color wheels and curves for precise color grading.

Instagram’s expansion into desktop editing is part of its strategy to compete in longer-form, episodic content and capitalize on the growing popularity of microdramas.

Instagram’s Edits for Mac is now available for download.

Instagram is also rolling out Instagram for TV, extending its video experience to the television.

What this adds

Instagram’s Edits for Mac offers a more extensive feature set compared to its mobile counterpart, including support for multiple aspect ratios and advanced text customization options.
