Former President Donald Trump congratulated Democrats on their midterm victories, saying he looks forward to working with them, despite his previous calls for Republicans to 'pretend I'm on the ballot.'

Trump also addressed the renovation of the White House, which had been criticized by former President Barack Obama. 'Some White House staffers dined on take-out from US chain restaurant The Cheesecake Factory — a dig at Democratic former president Barack Obama, who had said Trump’s White House renovations were “looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory,”' reported Inquirer.net.

The Justice Department has sent yet another round of letters to state election officials warning them that they could face criminal prosecution for violating federal election laws, reminding them to preserve ballots, voter-registration records, and other election materials for 22 months after a federal election, according to Votebeat.

In a separate development, hundreds of people gathered at the Michigan State Capitol on Saturday for the latest “No Kings” rally, with organizers focusing their message on the upcoming November midterm elections. Previous “No Kings” rallies have opposed President Donald Trump and what organizers have called “abuses of power,” according to Wilx.
