The Democratic Wave Swept Statehouses Across the Country
Confirmed
In Short: The Democratic wave felt across the country swept through Montpelier too on Tuesday, with progressive wins in the House and Senate.

The Democratic surge on Tuesday netted at least 330 state legislative seats, from New Hampshire to Arizona, giving the Democrats full control of 22 state governments and making them the majority in a dozen statehouse chambers where they had been the minority party.
In Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Nevada, Democrats will hold both statehouse chambers as well as the governorship. The party was on the verge of the same ‘trifecta’ in Arizona as well.
In Texas, Democrats celebrated a wave of wins, including James Talarico’s victory in the U.S. Senate race.
The Democratic victories will allow the party to make policy on health care, voting, and taxation in state capitals that for years have been out of their control, such as Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina.
At a Democratic watch party in downtown Austin, Goodwin declared victory as supporters celebrated the statewide results.
The Democratic candidate for Ohio governor, Amy Acton, pushed back forcefully against an unattributed online ad insinuating she has mental health issues.
