Google is running a Memorial Day sale on its Pixel 11 series phones, offering discounts of up to 27% off, according to 9to5Google. The sale follows a previous one a month ago and is now being matched and exceeded by retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.

Amazon is currently offering the Pixel 9 Pro XL at a discounted price of $699, which is significantly lower than the original price. This deal is described as a 'steal' by 9to5Google, as it offers more value compared to the OnePlus 13.

Best Buy briefly offered the Pixel 9 Pro XL at a $500 discount, but this deal was short-lived and may have been a glitch. Despite this, the Pixel 9 Pro XL remains one of the most expensive non-foldable phones from Google, according to 9to5Google.

AT&T is promoting the Pixel 9 launch with a new trade-in offer that allows users to get a free Pixel 9 Pro or 9 Pro XL in exchange for their current phone, regardless of its condition.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL is being positioned as an AI-first phone by Google, with AI deeply embedded in the operating system. According to Android Police, the phone's performance under AI is surprisingly good, contrary to expectations.

Tech Advisor notes that while flagship phones like the iPhone Duo, Galaxy S26 Ultra, and Oppo Find X10 range are popular, savvy shoppers might find better value in mid-range phones that offer advanced features at a lower cost.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL is part of a broader trend in the smartphone market, where carriers are responding to increased costs with stronger promotions, as reported by Counterpoint Research. This trend is evident in the substantial discounts being offered by Google and its retail partners.

Google's Pixel 11 series has seen updates to its design, with the Gemini Intelligence feature now available on all Pixel devices. This update was first introduced on the Pixel 11 and has since been rolled out to other models.

Google is also rolling out a new proactive AI feature called 'Contextual Suggestions' to select Pixel devices running Android 16, according to Nokiapoweruser. This feature aims to enhance the user experience by providing relevant suggestions based on context.

What this adds

The Pixel 11 series is now eligible for Android 17 updates, according to Google's update policy, which applies to Pixel 6 and newer models.

Google has released the September 2026 Pixel update, addressing some of the issues reported by users.

Motorola smartphones are receiving special priority from GrapheneOS, which cited technical difficulties when working with Google's Pixel 11 series devices.
