Apple has released the first beta of Xcode 27.3, which includes support for GitHub Copilot within the built-in coding assistant, allowing developers to test Siri AI integration in their apps, and additional APIs for optimizing apps for upcoming MacBook Pro models with touchscreens.

The update also introduces two new Audio Intelligence features for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4: Siri Recap and Live Rewind. Siri Recap ambiently takes notes on conversations throughout the day and generates summaries that users can review later.

Apple has emphasized privacy with these new features, stating that they do not create or store audio recordings and that raw audio used for processing is inaccessible to the operating system, apps, users, or Apple.

When enabled, Siri Recap automatically generates a title and key points from conversations, which users can review in the Siri app on their iPhone. Live Rewind can also be accessed via the Control Center on the Apple Watch.

Apple has published a detailed Privacy Overview on its website, covering the Audio Intelligence features, and a support article detailing Siri Recap and Live Rewind, which are now available in beta with watchOS 27.3.

The release also includes bug fixes and other improvements, and Apple has introduced an Excluded Apps setting that lets users choose which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access.

Testing of the first features will begin on November 4 through the latest iOS developer beta, bringing tools such as Live Translation, Clean Up, and Writing Tools to compatible iPhones.

What this adds

Apple first announced these features at its special event in September, saying they would 'arrive in beta later this year.'
