ConfirmedShare on
In Short: During the siege, Israeli forces seized Palestinian homes in the Al-Jalda and Ein Deir Baha areas and turned them into military positions.

Hebron's governor, Khaled Dudin, announced on Monday that Israeli forces have withdrawn from the city, allowing Palestinian security forces to take full control of the area. The withdrawal comes after a 10-day siege that began on October 23 following a shooting attack near the city that killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three others.
According to Dudin, schoolchildren are now able to attend their schools and university students can resume their studies. Five universities had been closed during the siege, affecting more than 80,000 students in the city, according to Wafa.
The Hebron governorate reported that more than 3,300 Palestinians were displaced or otherwise affected by the siege. The Hebron Municipality, however, stated that the Israeli offensive had displaced 4,969 Palestinians from 780 families, according to TRT World.
The siege disrupted daily life in Hebron, which is the occupied West Bank’s main economic center. It contains 220 of the Palestinian territory’s 940 Israeli military checkpoints and gates, according to Atrash, adding that the closures disrupted 4,000 factories.
During the siege, Israeli forces seized Palestinian homes in the Al-Jalda and Ein Deir Baha areas and turned them into military positions. The Hebron Governorate reported that 15 homes and structures were demolished, and 327 shops closed, with direct economic losses exceeding 12 million shekels ($3.8m) a day.
Hebron Mayor Youssef al-Jaabari said the municipality was officially informed of the withdrawal at 6am (04:00 GMT). He added that municipal crews were heading to al-Jalda, Ein Deir Bahha, and Shubat al-Malh to assess damage and facilitate the safe return of displaced families.
