ConfirmedShare on
In Short: Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was carted off the field on a backboard after a tackle attempt left him motionless.

During the fourth quarter of the Lions' 19-15 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, Campbell and teammate Eric O'Neill combined to tackle Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson.
After the tackle, Campbell appeared to bend backward awkwardly and remained motionless on the turf.
Medical personnel quickly attended to Campbell, immobilizing him on a backboard before carting him off the field.
Campbell was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of a possible neck injury.
Head coach Dan Campbell, no relation to the injured player, provided no further information on Jack's status during the post-game press conference.
"Let me start with this: You know, thoughts and prayers are with Jack and his family," Dan Campbell told reporters.
The Lions defense took a moment to gather after Campbell was carted off the field.
In a post on X, the team revealed that Campbell would remain in the hospital overnight for continued evaluation and monitoring.
"Jack Campbell is resting and will remain in a local hospital tonight, for continued evaluation and monitoring," the team stated.
Campbell, 26, had a career year in 2025, recording 176 tackles, nine tackles for loss, five sacks, three forced fumbles, and four passes defended.
The Lions signed Campbell last May to a contract extension that runs through the 2030 season.
