· Confirmed
In Short: AI giant Anthropic has officially launched its initial public offering, aiming to surpass SpaceX's record $86 billion raise.

AI giant Anthropic has officially launched its initial public offering (IPO), aiming to surpass SpaceX's record-breaking $86 billion raise, according to a report by PBS.
The company, founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, including CEO Dario Amodei and President Daniela Amodei, has recorded a significant revenue increase of $16.3 billion for the first half of 2026, up from $1.2 billion in the same period last year, as reported by TechCrunch.
However, Anthropic also reported a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first half of 2026, highlighting the high costs associated with building infrastructure in the competitive AI industry.
According to the filing, Anthropic will be listing under the ticker “ANT” and has committed 5% of its shares to a new “public benefit” fund, with the potential to increase this contribution as its market value grows.
The company’s charter requires its leadership to balance shareholder returns with responsible AI development, as stated by Al Jazeera.
Anthropic’s rapid growth is also reflected in its research and development efforts, with about 90% of its current research involving some level of collaboration with Claude, the chatbot it developed.
Despite the high costs, Anthropic has substantial financial resources, reporting $112.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents and another $19.3 billion in short-term investments as of June 30, 2026.
The company’s IPO filing is one of the most anticipated listings of the AI era, with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley leading the offering.
Analysts forecast a valuation exceeding $2 trillion for Anthropic, making its IPO one of the largest in history.
Anthropic’s IPO is expected to list on the US stock market before the end of 2026, following the recent SpaceX IPO.
The company’s financial disclosures indicate a growing market for AI, with Meta planning to raise up to $95 billion through stock sales to fund AI infrastructure.
Anthropic’s IPO is set to provide the clearest insight into AI demand, as noted by Empower Chief Investment Strategist Marta Norton.
