Talarico and Trump Rally Supporters in Texas Senate Race
· Confirmed
In Short: Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico and former President Donald Trump are rallying supporters in the final days of the 2026 election.

In the closing argument of his Senate campaign, Talarico is rallying supporters against the influence of Elon Musk, whom he accuses of bankrolling negative ads and smear campaigns against him.
"We just found out that the richest man in the world is almost single-handedly bankrolling this effort to install Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate and defeat the movement that we are building in our state," Talarico said at a rally in Midland, Texas.
Talarico claims that Musk is behind the attack ads and smears targeting him, including text messages and mailers.
"In all likelihood, if you’ve seen an attack ad on your TV, that was Elon. If you’ve gotten lies in your mailbox, that was Elon. If you’ve received a text message saying scary things about me with scary black and white photos, that was Elon too," Talarico said.
Meanwhile, Trump is rallying supporters in Texas to vote for Republican nominee Ken Paxton.
"A vote for Talafreako is a vote to turn Texas into a dirty, failing, third-world country," Trump told the crowd, contrasting that with his support for Paxton.
"There is something happening in the Lone Star State," Talarico told his own crowd.
According to a new N+ Univision/YouGov poll, Talarico leads Paxton with 50% to 45%.
Talarico accused Paxton of wanting open borders and called him a “freak,” while Paxton told the crowd, “The election may depend on West Texas.”
