Savannah Chrisley Defends Age Gap in Pregnancy Announcement
Confirmed
In Short: Savannah Chrisley, 29, announced her pregnancy and defended her relationship with fiancé Jason Galanis, 56, despite facing backlash.

Savannah Chrisley, 29, announced her pregnancy and engagement to Jason Galanis, 56, in an emotional Instagram post, defending their 'huge' age gap relationship. 'Not a single doctor’s appointment missed. Constantly caring for me, talking about our baby, and reminding me how beautiful my growing bump is,' she wrote, thanking God for her partner.
Chrisley, a reality star, has been open about her relationship with Galanis, who was sentenced to 189 months in prison for securities fraud in September 2020 but had his sentence commuted by President Trump in March 2025. She described him as 'much older' than she is and emphasized that he is her 'best friend.'
In her post, Chrisley addressed the criticism, saying, 'You are not a headline. You are not a controversy. You are not defined by anyone's past, anyone's mistakes, or anyone's opinions.' She also noted, 'No amount of noise in this world will ever overshadow the joy of being your mama.'
Chrisley revealed that she and Galanis met through the political world of D.C. while she was working to get her parents pardoned. She shared that their connection was 'so much stronger of a connection than either of us ever thought was there.'
During an appearance on the 'Whine Down' podcast in June 2026, Chrisley mentioned that her father, Todd, is 'not too fond' of the age difference. She explained, 'I would rather 20 phenomenal, unbelievable years with someone than 50 just fine years.'
Chrisley also addressed the public's reaction to her pregnancy and engagement, saying, 'I feel like so many women in today’s day and age are the primary breadwinners for their family, and they feel like they have to dim their light in order to make their partner feel better. And I’m like, no.'
In an interview with Fox News, Chrisley defended her relationship, noting that Galanis 'does not look his age, nor does he act his age.' She added, 'You are not a headline. You are not a controversy. You are not defined by anyone's past, anyone's mistakes, or anyone's opinions.'
Chrisley and Galanis had to push their January 2027 wedding to May 2027 due to her pregnancy. She expressed her joy, saying, 'Watching the way you already love and protect our baby before he/she has even entered this world has made me fall in love with you in an entirely new way.'
What this adds

What's confirmed
- "I feel like so many women in today’s day and age are the primary breadwinners for their family, and they feel like they have to dim their light in order to make their partner feel better. And I’m like, no," she said.
- "J, watching the way you already love and protect our baby before he/she has even entered this world has made me fall in love with you in an entirely new way," she wrote.
- "And that’s probably part of the reason why I kept a lot of it quiet, because I know how brutal the public can be. But I genuinely do not care."
What's still developing
- And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine," she wrote alongside a video montage announcing the pregnancy. "The past few years have taken me through fires I never imagined I’d have to walk through.
- "And to the woman still in her waiting season… wondering when it will finally be her turn, wondering if God has forgotten her… Please don’t mistake God’s silence for His absence," she wrote.
- "And I will never apologize for celebrating you."
- Although she did not identify her future husband in the post, she described him as "much older" than she is.
- “You know I share just about everything with you guys,” Chrisley explained during the October 27, 2026, episode of her “ Unlocked ” podcast.
- Savannah noted that after her parents’ pardons, she received a text from Jason congratulating her and that’s when things took off. (Jason, for his part, was pardoned by Trump in March 2025 after being sentenced in September 2020 to more than 15 years in prison for his role in two schemes, including one that defrauded the Oglala Sioux tribe and pension fund investors out of tens of millions of dollars.) “When we truly started digging deep into things, it was so much stronger of a connection than either of us ever thought was there,” she shared.
- While Todd and Julie Chrisley ’s daughter has continued to keep the identity of her husband-to-be, whom she often calls “J,” a secret, she revealed that the couple are engaged and have been for nearly a year. ( Us exclusively confirmed in October 2026 that Savannah’s partner is in fact Galanis.) The lovebirds, however, had to push their January 2027 nuptials to May 2027 because Savannah is pregnant.
- “You see, age-gap relationships are the new thing. … There’s all these couples that [have] a huge age-gap relationship, but it just works, like, it’s insane,” Savannah explained.
- Savannah and Todd Chrisley speak out for the first time since Todd and Julie's release from prison after a pardon from President Donald Trump.
- The outlet reported that Galanis, who is 27 years older than Chrisley, was an associate of Hunter Biden, noting that he worked with him and business associate Devon Archer.
