In Short: Actress Hayden Panettiere's death has been ruled accidental by South Carolina police, who have closed their investigation.

Actress Hayden Panettiere's death has been ruled accidental by South Carolina police, who announced Wednesday they are closing their investigation.
According to the Greenville Police Department, the ruling is based on the Medical Examiner's determination and the findings of the investigation.
The autopsy found no signs of trauma that contributed to her death.
Panettiere, 36, was found unresponsive at an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina, on Aug. 16.
Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures before Panettiere was pronounced dead.
The Greenville County Coroner's Office previously ruled that Panettiere died from the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine.
Panettiere's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach Hickerson, were at the apartment when officers responded.

A friend of Panettiere’s called 911 reporting an “unresponsive female.”
The DEA had joined the death investigation earlier this month.
