Amanda Serrano to Retire in Puerto Rico's 'Last Walk'
Confirmed
In Short: Puerto Rico's seven-division world champion Amanda Serrano will retire in January after defending her titles against Skye Falzon.

Puerto Rico’s seven-division world champion Amanda Serrano will retire after defending her unified featherweight world titles against Australia’s Skye Falzon in Puerto Rico on January 9, 2024, in a fight dubbed 'The Last Walk'.
Serrano, 38, is also gunning for the all-time women’s knockout record, which she jointly shares with American Christy Martin. This fight will be her final professional bout.
The Last Walk' is a celebration of an athlete who changed the sport forever, said Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, founders of Most Valuable Promotions. 'We’re proud to give Amanda the farewell she deserves.
Boxing has been Serrano’s life, and she never could have imagined the journey it would take her and her family on, she said. 'I am stepping in to prove that I belong there and to give everything I have to create my own piece of boxing history.'
Serrano, who boasts a fight history of 50 wins, four defeats, and one draw, will be seeking to break the all-time women's knockout record in her farewell bout. She is the only Puerto Rican boxer, male or female, to become an undisputed world champion.
Serrano’s career will perhaps be best remembered for her historic rivalry with Ireland's Katie Taylor, who won all three of their encounters. 'There's still more work to do, and I'll continue fighting for the next generation long after I hang up my gloves,' Serrano said.
Serrano is a Guinness World Record holder for winning titles across seven weight divisions and became a leading voice for equality in women’s boxing. In 2023, she competed in the first women’s unified world championship bout over 12 three-minute rounds.
Details for the Puerto Rico celebration will be announced soon, and Serrano will start as a heavy favorite to retain her WBO and WBA featherweight titles against Australia’s Falzon.
Serrano’s career has been marked by significant achievements, including her previous outing where she edged a majority decision victory over Argentina's Lucrecia Manzur to claim her 50th professional win.
What this adds
Serrano's final fight will take place in Puerto Rico, where she will be supported by her fans and the people who have supported her from the beginning.
