Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering an injury to his toe, according to multiple reports.

Taylor addressed the situation in a statement, expressing his love for the team and his commitment to it, saying, "I love this team and my commitment to it won't change."

Taylor's injury came after he had turned heads with impressive performances in the first four games of the season, throwing for 1,192 yards and 14 touchdowns to just two interceptions.

Taylor had been battling injuries this season, notably missing the game against LSU and playing limited time against Oklahoma.

Taylor's surgery is expected to take place as soon as Wednesday, with the team still evaluating the full extent of the injury.

"We're still in the process of looking at everything," Taylor told reporters, indicating that more details would be known in the next 48 hours.

"Missing the rest of the season is hard to accept, but I know God has a plan," Taylor said in a statement, showing his resilience and faith.

"Kamario is one of the most dynamic players in college football, and he will remain an important part of our team as he begins his recovery," the school's statement said.

Taylor's absence will be a significant blow to the Bulldogs, who were one of the best teams in the country during the first month of the season.

"He is doing good. His spirits are good, but as we continue to move forward, I think we'll know a lot more here in the next 48 hours," a source close to Taylor said.

Taylor's injury highlights the importance of player health and the challenges teams face when key players go down.

"the best QB I've seen in college football in a few years," one source said, underscoring Taylor's impact on the team.
