House Judiciary Democrats Release Report Linking Trump to Epstein Scandal
Confirmed
In Short: House Judiciary Democrats released a 53-page committee staff report Monday, revealing what they argue is 'mounting evidence linking' President Donald Trump to convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activities.

House Judiciary Democrats released a 53-page committee staff report Monday, revealing what they argue is 'mounting evidence linking' President Donald Trump to convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activities.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), who released the report, said, 'Five women have directly accused Trump of rape or sexual assault in Epstein’s company or presence; others have indicated that Epstein or Maxwell attempted to traffic them to Trump.'
The report accuses Trump of being 'an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein's sexual abuse of young women' during the mid-to-late 1990s, citing material involving 11 women, five of whom directly accuse the president of rape or sexual assault.
Raskin also accused the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Attorney General Todd Blanche of deliberately covering up President Trump’s involvement in Epstein’s schemes. He stated, 'The women who survived Epstein deserve to be heard, Congress must have the complete files required by law, and an independent special counsel must investigate Epstein’s co-conspirators and DOJ’s cover-up and ensure that state and foreign prosecutors have the evidence they need to pursue justice.'
The report also concludes that Trump and Paolo Zampolli, until recently a senior administration official and diplomat, may have been co-conspirators in Epstein's scheme.
A Justice Department spokesperson told NBC News the document was 'nothing more than a last-ditch effort by House Judiciary Democrats to mislead the public.' The spokesperson added that the DOJ complied with the Epstein Files Transparency Act and made nearly 3 million documents related to Epstein available to the public.
The report includes a redacted document showing a conversation between Trump, his Mar-a-Lago manager, and his lawyers, where Trump stated that Epstein 'was never asked to leave' Mar-a-Lago.
The report also cites a 2019 email from Epstein to reporter Michael Wolff, which said, 'Of course [Trump] knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine [sic] to stop.'
House Democrats are vowing to make Jeffrey Epstein a top priority if they win back the House next week, just days before the midterm elections.
The Republican-led Oversight Committee has subpoenaed several Epstein associates, but Republicans have been largely unwilling to look deeper into Trump's ties.
The Democrats acknowledged that the department is unlikely to 'take even this minimal step,' but wrote in the report that there is more than enough evidence to launch a criminal investigation.
What this adds
The report also includes a claim that Trump called the Palm Beach Chief of Police in 2006, thanking him for stopping Epstein's activities.

What's still developing
- They want that prosecutor to examine not only the president but every potential accomplice in Epstein's trafficking network.
