The Alexander brothers, Oren, Alon, and Tal, were each sentenced to 30 years in prison on Tuesday after being found guilty of a decade-long sex trafficking scheme in a federal trial in New York City. ABC News and People reported that the brothers were found guilty on all counts.

According to ABC News and The Times of Israel (Israel), the brothers were accused of using their wealth and social status to lure women to parties and luxury homes, where they sexually assaulted them. The Times of Israel reported that the brothers moved from Florida to New York in 2008.

The BBC (United Kingdom) and SMH.com.au (Australia) reported that the brothers were found guilty in March of 10 counts, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force. The trial included testimony from 11 women who described being lured, drugged, and sexually assaulted over a period of years.

The BBC (United Kingdom) reported that Judge Valerie Caproni sentenced each brother to 30 years in prison, while also imposing 20 years for additional crimes to be served concurrently. The judge also ordered each brother to 10 years of supervised release.

According to Usmagazine, the defense argued that the prosecutors had little evidence to prove that the brothers had drugged anyone due to the lack of toxicology reports, medical reports, and contemporaneous police reports. However, the prosecution maintained that the brothers followed a consistent 'playbook,' using their wealth and influence to lure women to their properties, drug, and assault them.

The Guardian and NBC News reported that several of the women gave testimony on Tuesday using pseudonyms, describing how the assaults by the brothers had destroyed their lives and their ability to trust other people. Maya Miller testified that Tal Alexander raped her in a shower during a 2014 visit to a Hamptons property.

The New York Times reported that the brothers were described as serial rapists who violated women and girls for years. Prosecutor Elizabeth Espinosa argued for a life sentence, saying the facts 'paint a truly devastating picture.'

The Alexander brothers were also ordered to pay combined fines and restitution. Oren Alexander was ordered to pay an additional $50,000, while Tal Alexander was ordered to pay $350,000, and Oren and Alon Alexander were each ordered to pay $300,000.

The defense maintained that the brothers should serve lighter sentences of 15 years, the minimum for sex trafficking, while maintaining their innocence. However, Judge Caproni called their conduct 'monstrous' and said their assertion that they had been rehabilitated 'rings hollow.'

The brothers are expected to appeal their convictions. The case has also complicated a $4.6 million loan default case against Tal, Oren, and Official Partners, a firm they founded in 2022.

Despite the defense's claims, the prosecution argued that the brothers' pattern of abusive behavior began in high school and continued into adulthood, with crimes starting in 2008.

The accounts from the various publications agree that the Alexander brothers were sentenced to 30 years in prison each for their role in a decade-long sex trafficking scheme, with additional penalties including fines and supervised release.
