Alabama Dismisses Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. After Second Arrest
Confirmed
In Short: Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer has dismissed cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. from the program following a second arrest.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer has dismissed cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. from the program following a second arrest, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
Kirkpatrick was arrested on misdemeanor charges of doxing and harassing communications with police, stemming from an incident where he allegedly sent a UAPD officer a message containing profanity and posted a photo of the officer and his family on social media.
The incident occurred on October 20, and the officer involved was connected to Kirkpatrick’s previous arrest in 2025 on charges of reckless endangerment and attempting to elude and speeding.
DeBoer stated, “After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program. He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players.”
Kirkpatrick had been suspended for the latter half of the 2025 season after his first arrest and was initially suspended for Alabama’s victory over Texas A&M on Saturday.
Court records show that Kirkpatrick allegedly sent the officer a harassing message and posted a photo of the officer, his wife, and their two children on Facebook with the caption “Dis him?”
Kirkpatrick had played in each of Alabama’s first seven games this season and was expected to be a key reserve in the secondary, participating in 28 games over the last three years with 17 tackles.
The 5-foot-11 defensive back was in his third season with the Alabama program and had missed much of last season while suspended for his prior arrest.
DeBoer’s decision underscores the high standards he has set for his team, emphasizing that no player, regardless of last name, will be tolerated if they fail to meet these expectations.
Kirkpatrick’s second arrest and subsequent dismissal highlight the consequences of repeated misconduct for athletes at major universities, where maintaining a clean record is crucial for both on-field performance and off-field reputation.
