Flanagan expressed his gratitude for Stephen King's trust and support in expanding the story beyond the prom scene, which has been a cornerstone of the original novel for 50 years.

The series, starring Summer H. Howell as Carrie White, has seen significant growth in viewership, with its second episode increasing its demo rating by 47% and reaching a season-high demo with Episode 5.

Flanagan's vision for 'Carrie' includes a three-season arc, as he told Collider, indicating a trilogy format for the series.

TheWrap noted that while the series covers all major beats from the original 'Carrie' story, it also introduces new twists, hinting that Carrie may not be as alone as she believes.

King, an executive producer on the series, expressed excitement about the future of the show, stating, 'It’s bound to be thrilling.'
