Since its launch, the 'Search services' Connected App has enabled Gemini to access a range of Google services, including Search, Maps, Shopping, News, and Google Flights and Hotels.

Gemini's Personal Intelligence uses user data such as emails, documents, photos, and videos to customize responses without requiring specific instructions.

The new integration in Google Maps will enhance users' experiences by providing tailored suggestions for restaurants, among other locations, based on their saved places and search history.

Google is also notifying AI Ultra subscribers that the new Gemini 4 Argon model will replace the Deep Think feature soon. Users can switch to Argon for deeper reasoning capabilities.

The last update to the Deep Think reasoning mode was in February, and it is unclear whether the mode is being phased out or if the underlying Gemini 3.1 Pro model is being retired.

In a related development, US President Donald Trump has announced plans to rebrand artificial intelligence as 'super intelligence' and is considering a 10-member committee to oversee AI development.

A senior researcher at Anthropic has warned of a greater than 10% chance that AI could kill all humans within the next decade, highlighting the ongoing debate over AI's risks.

Despite these concerns, most American adults believe AI will do more good than harm in education, according to a recent NBC News poll.

Trump's efforts to rebrand AI and his stance on AI regulation have drawn criticism, with a Quinnipiac survey showing that 58 percent of respondents disapprove of his handling of AI.

Google's expansion of Personal Intelligence in Google Maps is part of a broader strategy to integrate AI into daily life, offering users more personalized and convenient experiences.
