Russian Attacks Kill At Least Nine in Ukraine
· Confirmed
In Short: The Kyiv Post (Ukraine) reported that Russian attacks killed four civilians and injured at least 14 others in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions over the past 24 hours, while overnight drone strikes sparked fires and damaged civilian property and businesses across several regions.

Russian strikes overnight into Saturday killed at least nine people and injured 57 others across Ukraine, according to reports from Al Jazeera (Qatar) and the Kyiv Post (Ukraine).
Al Jazeera (Qatar) reported that the attacks included 27 ballistic missiles, with only one intercepted by Ukraine's US Patriot air defense system, which President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said had run out of interceptors.
In Darnytskyi, seven people were killed and 14 injured as the attack caused fires and damaged homes, vehicles, and an administrative building, according to Al Jazeera (Qatar).
In Solomianskyi, falling debris damaged a five-storey residential building and sparked a fire, with 35 people evacuated from the upper floors, two deaths, and eight injuries, including two children, as reported by Al Jazeera (Qatar).
Both Al Jazeera (Qatar) and the Kyiv Post (Ukraine) reported fires breaking out across Kyiv and power outages in some areas, marking the second major attack on Kyiv this week.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the targets were consistently defined facilities that sustain the war effort, and that Ukraine had struck three Russian oil refineries’ infrastructure in the Bashkortostan region, nearly 1,600km from the border, and sank a sanctioned Russian container ship, Yanina, in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
The attacks came as US President Donald Trump said that talks were ongoing but that Washington had not yet agreed to the proposal to give Ukraine a licence for interceptor missiles, citing concerns about the technology being used against the US.
Al Jazeera (Qatar) and the Kyiv Post (Ukraine) both reported that Russian forces took control of two more villages across two Ukrainian regions – Olgivka in the northern Kharkiv and Lyubytske in the southeastern Zaporizhia.
While the exact number of casualties varied slightly between reports, both Al Jazeera (Qatar) and the Kyiv Post (Ukraine) agreed that the Russian attacks killed at least nine people and injured dozens across Ukraine, primarily targeting Kyiv.
The attacks highlight the ongoing and intense nature of the conflict, with fighting raging along about 1,200km of front line, according to Al Jazeera (Qatar).
