Confirmed
In Short: NewFilmmakers Los Angeles has unveiled the lineup for its 2026 DocuSlate Documentary Film Festival, featuring world, North American, and U.S. premieres.
Screenings for the 2026 DocuSlate Documentary Film Festival will begin on Thursday, November 12, at Cinelounge Sunset Theater in Hollywood, continuing through Sunday, November 15, at South Park Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
The festival will showcase a diverse range of documentaries, including Ora DeKornfeld’s 'The Grandfather Puzzle,' which earned Oscar-qualifying status after receiving Mountainfilm’s Best Short Documentary award.
One of the highlights is 'Uncommitted,' directed by Razi Jafri, which will have its Los Angeles premiere on the final day of the festival.
The lineup also includes 'The Grandfather Puzzle,' an investigative documentary that explores the political impact of the Uncommitted National Movement, with updates to be incorporated following the November elections.
Through its combination of film exhibitions, filmmaker conversations, and professional development opportunities, DocuSlate aims to foster a dialogue about the cultural and social significance of nonfiction cinema.
The festival will feature work from Sundance, Tribeca, and SXSW alumni, alongside filmmakers whose collective accomplishments include four Emmy Award winners and two Emmy nominees.
In addition to 'Uncommitted,' other notable premieres include 'Déwun Owusu' from South Africa, making its North American debut, and 'Dwarf Neon Mayfield,' which will also have its North American premiere.
