In Short: Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller has agreed to a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension.

Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller has agreed to a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension, representatives AJ Vaynerchuk and Joey Middleton of VaynerSports told ESPN's Shams Charania.

The deal, which begins in 2027/28, is just above the five-year, $208 million rookie scale extension that Amen Thompson signed with the Rockets.

Miller, entering his fourth season with the Hornets after being selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, had a career season in 2025-26, averaging 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 38.3% shooting from 3 in 65 regular-season games.

The Hornets will now move forward with Miller and Kon Knueppel as the faces of the franchise, following the trade of LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Miller's new contract guarantees him with the organization through the 2031-32 season, barring a trade.

Miller's breakout season followed a sophomore campaign in which he was held to 27 games due to injuries.

Miller's new deal will lock him in with the organization for the foreseeable future, with the Hornets wanting to keep him around for the next several seasons.

Miller's extension will reportedly come in $1MM above the five-year, $208MM rookie scale extension that Amen Thompson signed with the Rockets.

Miller's new contract will begin in 2027/28, and the Hornets and Miller will begin the 2026-27 NBA season on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets on the road.
