Rosalía, who has been a musical guest on SNL twice before, performed live during the episode.

In his opening monologue, Gillis discussed his Bud Light commercials and his fitness journey with workout buddies Joe Rogan and Theo Von. He also commented on gym culture, noting, 'Women just dress like whores now' at the gym.

The episode featured a sketch where Gillis played his elderly mother as a hospice nurse, played by Sarah Sherman, who told him he only had a few days left, conflicting with his plans to see Jelly Roll in Vegas.

The show's upcoming episodes will feature hosts like Dakota Johnson, Inde Navarrette, and Gracie Abrams, with musical guests including Turnstile and KATSEYE.

SNL has also launched a spinoff, Saturday Night Live U.K., adding to its long-standing legacy since its premiere in 1975.

What this adds

The show's relationship with Shane Gillis has been marked by controversy, as he was previously hired and then fired from SNL in 2019 after videos surfaced of him using racial slurs.
