The film picks up where the original left off, with Johnny (Barrett) continuing his violent rampage at an Ontario summer camp, where a young outcast camper is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party.
The sequel was first teased in February and attendees at Fantastic Fest got a first look at the film last month.
In a Violent Nature: Part 2 was announced during Shudder’s New York Comic Con panel, with Johnny making a surprise appearance in the mask to reveal the release date.
The first film, 'In a Violent Nature,' earned approximately $4.23 million domestically and $4.56 million worldwide, and premiered at Sundance’s Midnight program in 2024.
Mary Beth McAndrews from Dread Central praised the practical effects and described the sequel as having 'some of the best kills of the year,' while noting the move away from the original's experimental approach.
The film is produced by Independent Film Company and distributed by IFC Films and Shudder.
