The upcoming series, produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios, centers around a young Earthbender named Pavi who discovers she is the new Avatar after Korra, but in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm, the title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior.

Pavi and her twin sister Nisha embark on a journey to uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens, the central pillar of civilization in a new and dangerous era.

Konietzko and DiMartino were joined on the panel by executive producer Ethan Spaulding and co-executive producer Sehaj Sethi, along with the voices of Pavi, Nisha, and Jae: Saheli Khan, Aishu Devan, and Major Curda.

Moderator Janet Varney unveiled special in-game Avatar: Seven Havens colorways for the full roster of playable characters and Sonam’s temple stage, alongside a shoutout to the upcoming OS: NYC event.

In addition, the creators announced a new Paramount+ original animated series, 'Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos,' set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

'Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos' follows the Water Tribe Avatar Kuruk, who lived three generations before Aang, and features a rebellious teenage Avatar who bucks thousands of years of tradition by choosing to learn the four elements through globetrotting adventures.

The panel also showcased a clip from the end of the first episode, highlighting the show's journey from script to screen.

Voice actor Major Curda praised the show's canon gay relationship, noting that it's exciting because it's not a huge deal.

Unlike previous series in the Avatar universe, in the time of 'Seven Havens,' the Avatar is viewed as a destroyer rather than a figure of balance.

The show's production began over three years ago when the cast were only 11, and it has been renewed for two more seasons, bringing the show to Seasons 3 and 4.

What this adds

The news of the renewal comes after a year of controversy for the Avatar franchise, but it is now looking up for the future of the series.

The show had already been renewed for Season 2, but Paramount further doubled down on the series with the announcement of Books 3 and 4.

The first season is titled 'Book 1: Survival,' and features 13 episodes that will air up until the finale on October 30, 2026.
