In Short: Googlebooks has replaced the Caps Lock key with a Quick Insert function, which cannot be remapped.

Googlebooks has made a notable hardware change by removing the dedicated Caps Lock key and replacing it with a Quick Insert function.

According to a report by Android Authority, users cannot remap the Quick Insert button to serve as a Caps Lock key.

Googler Mishaal Rahman confirmed on Reddit that the Quick Insert button cannot be remapped, although users can still access Caps Lock by holding the function key and tapping the Quick Insert button.

This workaround, however, is more cumbersome than simply pressing the Caps Lock key.

The change will likely disappoint users who frequently use the Caps Lock key instead of the Shift button.
