The 2026 edition of the show reached 46 million total viewers, solidifying its status as television’s premier New Year’s Eve destination.
Ryan Seacrest will host the event, joined by comedian and actor Druski as the Chicago co-host.
Druski, 32, has gained significant recognition in recent years, collaborating with high-profile musicians such as Drake, Lil Yachty, and Jack Harlow.
The expanded eight-hour celebration will feature 42 performers, four live countdown celebrations, and nearly 100 songs from various locations including Times Square, Las Vegas, Chicago, Puerto Rico, Nashville, Kansas City, and beyond.
The New Year’s Eve celebration will air live on Thursday, December 31, starting at 8 p.m. and will also be simulcast on MTV and streamed on Paramount+ (Premium) in the U.S.
The show’s streaming debut is part of Disney’s digital strategy under CEO Josh D’Amaro, who aims to make Disney+ the “digital centerpiece” of the company.
The company plans to leverage its entire portfolio, from theme parks to films to products and experiences, to drive awareness to the 2027 Super Bowl.
Disney+ is widely accepted as the second most-scaled streamer in the U.S., making the Super Bowl widely accessible to consumers.
