Ryan Seacrest will return to host the program, with comedian and actor Druski joining as the Chicago co-host. Rita Ora will co-host from Times Square, and Julianne Hough and Rob Gronkowski will return to host from Las Vegas.

The expanded eight-hour celebration will feature 42 performers and nearly 100 songs performed across New York City's Times Square, Las Vegas, Chicago, Puerto Rico, Nashville, and Kansas City, making it the longest telecast in the show's over-50-year history.

The special will air live on Thursday, December 31, starting at 8 p.m. ET, and will also include a Central Time Zone countdown on the Chicago Riverwalk hosted by hometown hero Chance the Rapper.

The show's social engagement reached new heights last year, generating more than 506 million video views across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X during the five days surrounding the broadcast, a 165% increase year over year.

More than 30 million viewers watched the iconic Times Square ball drop at midnight, while the 11:30 p.m.–12:30 a.m. ET time frame averaged 19.606 million viewers, with a 5.00 rating in adults 18-49.

The special landed its best ratings in four years; according to live+3 day numbers, at the midnight mark when 2025 turned into 2026, a huge 30.01 million viewers were tuned in.

This year marks the longest telecast in the show’s history, including an additional 90 minutes of programming and featuring the soundtrack of the year, with 831 million total monthly Spotify listeners across the lineup and more than 85 songs performed.

If you can't be in person to see the Constellation Ball make its iconic descent atop One Times Square, you can still experience the magic without cable. It's an annual tradition for nearly 1 million people to gather in N.Y.C. every Dec. 31 to watch the annual New Year's Eve ball drop, while over 1 billion more people tune in on TV to see the symbolic start of the new year.

The expanded eight-hour celebration will feature 42 performers and nearly 100 songs performed across New York City's Times Square, Las Vegas, Chicago, Puerto Rico, Nashville, and Kansas City, making it the longest telecast in the show's over-50-year history.

The show's digital strategy under CEO Josh D’Amaro aims to make Disney+ the “digital centerpiece” of the company, as both the 2027 Super Bowl and New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will be simulcast on the platform.

The special is executive produced by Seacrest, Michael Dempsey, Jay Penske, and Barry Adelman, and has consistently delivered unforgettable moments, from Taylor Swift’s “1989” Times Square medley and Jennifer Lopez’s sky-high performance to recent electrifying sets by Sabrina Carpenter, Lenny Kravitz, Alanis Morissette, Jonas Brothers, and Duran Duran lighting up stages nationwide.
