ChatGPT’s ‘Intelligent UI’ update fills its responses with pictures, charts, and buttons
Confirmed
In Short: OpenAI is launching a new Intelligent UI feature in ChatGPT that allows the chatbot to answer questions with interactive visuals, including diagrams, charts, forms, and tappable buttons.

With GPT-6, the chatbot’s responses can now include interactive elements directly inside conversations, enhancing user interaction.
The company notes that GPT-6 “showed stronger resistance to attempts to bypass its safety training,” indicating improvements in the chatbot’s security.
The update is rolling out to all users alongside GPT-6, giving ChatGPT the ability to combine text responses with interactive visuals.
For example, ChatGPT can teach Mahjong by generating visuals of each tile and placing them into categories that users can scroll through.
OpenAI announced its first GPT-6 models last month, and now it’s bringing the Sol and Luna versions to ChatGPT.
An example shared by OpenAI shows how ChatGPT might display a diagram of a seven-speed bicycle, complete with interactive buttons that highlight different parts.
In a blog post, OpenAI explains that it trained GPT-6 to determine when to generate interactive visuals over text and how to format them in responses.
GPT-6 with Intelligent UI is rolling out globally to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users starting today, with plans to expand to Go and free tiers on Thursday.
The big goal, according to OpenAI, is to make “learning complex topics easier.” Aarush Selvan, a product manager at the company, said that while “ChatGPT has predominantly been a text-based interface,” the company wants to help users “get things done” with more interactive elements.
In a call with journalists, OpenAI staff demonstrated Intelligent UI’s capabilities, showing how the chatbot can instantly generate various diagrams and visuals to help users understand abstract topics.
For instance, when asked to explore how an airplane wing generates lift, ChatGPT quickly produced diagrams designed to explain how planes stay in the air.
Instead of just flat, cartoonish pictures, the chatbot will frequently include tappable buttons, customized calculators, interactive charts, and editable graphs.
