OpenAI is rolling out a new feature called Intelligent UI to make ChatGPT more visual and interactive, according to TechCrunch.

The new interface, which will be available Wednesday with the launch of a new GPT-6 model, aims to help users 'get things done' more easily, said Aarush Selvan, a product manager at OpenAI.

During a demonstration, OpenAI staff showed how the new chatbot can instantly generate various diagrams and visuals to help users understand complex topics.

For instance, a user asked ChatGPT to 'explore how an airplane wing generates lift,' and the chatbot quickly produced diagrams to explain the concept.

OpenAI says many of these visuals will be interactive, allowing users to engage more deeply with the content.

Users will also have the option to dial back the amount of visuals in their responses if they prefer.

The new interface is part of OpenAI's goal to make learning complex topics easier, according to TechCrunch.

Walmart is also integrating its chatbot, Sparky, into ChatGPT, allowing users to order products directly within the chatbot interface.

Since November, Walmart has allowed some ChatGPT users to order a limited selection of products without leaving the chatbot.

Daniel Danker, who oversees design and product for Walmart, noted that conversion rates for purchases made directly within ChatGPT have been lower than those requiring users to click out.

Walmart has made about 200,000 products available directly in chat responses, allowing consumers to provide their shipping and payment details to OpenAI and place their order within ChatGPT.

OpenAI's decision to integrate shopping capabilities into ChatGPT reflects a broader trend in consumer AI applications, as seen with Meta's Muse, which is becoming an ecosystem for completing real tasks like shopping and making appointments.
