Developing

Snopes investigated claims circulating on YouTube that Buzz Aldrin, one of the first astronauts to land on the moon, broke down in tears during an interview and said, 'The moon is not what you think.'
According to Snopes, no evidence supports the claim that Aldrin ever made this statement in any interview.
Snopes reached out to Aldrin through his website's inquiry form to ask if he had ever said such a quote or anything similar.
Searches for the quote and Aldrin's name on major search engines like Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, and Yahoo did not yield any videos or transcripts of the alleged interview.
Considering some YouTube videos claim Aldrin said the moon quote in interviews and another referred to it as his 'famous warning,' it's unlikely that there would be no credible references to this quote outside of these videos.
The searches did not reveal any credible news reports quoting Aldrin saying these words.
