Anthropic Expands Claude AI to Google Workspace
Confirmed
In Short: Anthropic has launched Claude AI for Google Workspace, allowing users to edit Docs, Sheets, and Slides directly from a sidebar.

Anthropic announced on October 6 that its Claude AI-powered services are now integrated into Google Workspace, enabling users to work with the AI chatbot on Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
With the new 'Claude for Google Workspace' feature, users can access Claude by opening a sidebar next to their Google file.
Once activated, Claude can read the open Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide, see selected text, cells, or slides, and make changes directly in the file.
In Google Docs, Claude can fix sentences, restyle headings, and propose edits as suggestion cards in the sidebar.
Claude can also generate executive summaries and create tables in Docs.
In Google Sheets, Claude can write formulas, build pivot tables, and native Sheets charts, and add new tabs.
Claude can create and modify Google files from within its chat interface, generating new slides that match the style of an existing presentation in Google Slides.
Claude can also check layouts for issues such as overlapping elements and readability problems.
Users can choose between a mode that requires approval before Claude makes changes and a setting that allows the assistant to execute edits automatically.
Anthropic is expanding its Claude for Startups program to give qualifying startups a free year of Claude Team, with up to five premium seats and $1,000 in API credits.
The Workspace sidebar uses the same Claude models and connected tools available through a user’s account, including third-party data sources and saved workflows.
What this adds
Claude's integration into Google Workspace is available in public beta for all paid Claude plans.
The announcement marks a significant step in Anthropic's strategy to embed Claude more deeply into workplace software.
