Tulsa King Renewed for Season 5, Moves to New York
Confirmed
In Short: Paramount+ has renewed 'Tulsa King' for a fifth season, which will be set in New York.

Paramount+ has renewed 'Tulsa King' for a fifth season, with production already underway in New York City. The series, which stars Sylvester Stallone as Dwight 'The General' Manfredi, will shift its setting from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to New York, where the character's mafia roots are located.
The move to New York was announced alongside the renewal of the show for its fifth season, which is set to premiere after the fourth season. The shift in location is due to the storyline exploring Manfredi's mafia background, and it also benefits from New York's Film Tax Credit Program.
Season 4 of 'Tulsa King' is set to premiere on October 16, 2023, and will continue to follow Manfredi as he navigates the criminal underworld in Tulsa. The upcoming season will see Manfredi dragged deeper into his street instincts, turning Tulsa into a battleground.
To keep audiences engaged until the fourth season, CBS is currently airing each episode of Season 1 on Sunday nights, starting from July 14. This move is aimed at filling the gap left by last summer's dual strikes and preparing viewers for the new season.
The cast for Season 4 includes Martin Starr, Jay Will, Vincent Piazza, Annabella Sciorra, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Frank Grillo, Mike 'Cash Flo' Walden, James Russo, Kevin Pollak, Neal McDonough, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany. Gretchen Mol also joins the cast as a series regular.
For Season 5, the show has added four new cast members: Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi, Nickola Shreli, and Erik Palladino. These additions will help bring the New York setting to life and add new layers to the storyline.
The show's executive producers include Sylvester Stallone, Taylor Sheridan, and David C. The series is known for its stacked cast and intricate plotlines, which have made it a hit for Paramount+ since its debut in November 2022.
In addition to the main series, a spinoff titled 'NOLA King' is also in the works, starring Samuel L. Jackson. Production for 'NOLA King' is expected to start in February 2026, though the streaming premiere date has not yet been announced.
What this adds
The shift to New York for Season 5 is a significant change for the show, as it has been primarily filmed in Atlanta for the first four seasons.

What's still developing
- Season 1 was showrun by Terence Winter, an Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning writer known for his work on series like The Sopranos and movies such as The Wolf of Wall Street.
- Tulsa King debuted its first season on Paramount+ back in November 2022 and proved to be a massive success for the streaming service.
- So much so that it was renewed for a second season which is set to stream in September.
- Similar to his deal for seasons 3 and 4, Stallone recently signed a new deal that helped clinch the show’s Season 5 renewal.
- “We’re excited to welcome the cast and crew of Tulsa King to New York State for its fifth season. Under Governor Hochul’s leadership, New York has built an unmatched home for film and television—world-class talent, iconic locations, and a Film Tax Credit Program that delivers real jobs and investment for New Yorkers. Tulsa King represents the latest in a growing list of projects proudly filmed in New York,” said Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight.
- While Season 5 is in production, Season 4 will keep fans satiated as they follow Dwight as he fights to legitimize his empire and protect his crew as corrupt politicians, dangerous new enemies, and a crushing personal loss hit from every direction.
- The Taylor Sheridan -created series began with New York mobster Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) being released from prison after 25 years, and the reward for his loyalty was a one-way ticket to Oklahoma to launch a criminal enterprise.
- Moving locations is nothing new in the Tulsa King universe.
- Tulsa King has spent the first four seasons filming in Atlanta, but a new storyline and New York tax credits have the action shifting up to Dwight’s hometown.
- It’s unclear what the future might hold for the rest of the cast, since it’s fair to wonder if it’s plausible for all the Tulsa-based characters to move north.
- Deadline further reported that original showrunner Terence Winter will return to helm season 4, taking over from Dave Erickson who oversaw season 3.
- That's when actor Sylvester Stallone finalized a new deal to stay on Tulsa King "for another two seasons," Deadline wrote. (This was an entire year before season 3 aired.) Tulsa King might not stop there; in September 2025, Deadline also wrote that "talks are underway" with Stallone's camp to keep the show going for potentially six seasons total.
