Slayyyter Announces 'wor$t man in america' Album
Confirmed
In Short: Slayyyter's debut album, 'wor$t girl in america,' was praised by Music Connection Magazine for its 'start-to-finish riotous, debauched, genre-defying beast of a record.' The magazine noted that the new 'brother' album was in the works as they were planning their story.
Slayyyter announced Monday that her upcoming album, 'wor$t man in america,' will be released on December 4 via Columbia Records. The nine-track project is described as an inverse counterpart to her breakout third album, 'wor$t girl in america,' which was released less than a year ago.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Slayyyter explained her decision to revisit the world of 'wor$t girl in america' from a different perspective. 'I want to live here for a little longer, so I’m kind of making an inverse album, if you will,' she said.
Two songs from the new album, 'Brand New Chanel$' and 'Crank 2,' have already been released. These tracks offer a fresh take on the 'wor$t girl in america' songs 'Beat Up Chanel$' and 'Crank,' respectively.
Slayyyter has been teasing the album throughout her sold-out tour, performing unreleased tracks such as 'Nekromantik!' and 'I Think He’s Got a Girl.' She also shared her excitement about the album's core feeling, stating, 'I just want the core of everything to feel like me, because it finally feels that.'
The album's tracklist includes titles like 'parking lot' and '*hymn*,' which are likely companions to 'GAS STATION' and '*PRAYER*,' respectively. Slayyyter has also received major co-signs, including a shout-out from Lady Gaga on TikTok.
Slayyyter's approach to music-making involves scenes and visions, and she prefers a more intimate setting for recording. 'I don’t like big fancy glossy studios, I find the energy very sterile and stifling,' she said. 'Sometimes I need to kick my shoes off and sit on the floor and sing softly or scream at the top of my lungs while no one is looking at me.'
The album's themes and ideas will be explored from a fresh perspective, reflecting Slayyyter's evolving feelings about life and identity. 'This project takes the listener on that same ride,' she explained.
Slayyyter's 'wor$t girl in america' tour has been a success, pulling in fans with a mix of middle America-chic and queer dance club vibes. The artist's performances have been met with enthusiasm, and fans are eagerly awaiting the release of 'wor$t man in america.'
