Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy Expected Back Against Vanderbilt
Confirmed
In Short: Ole Miss star running back Kewan Lacy is expected to return this week against Vanderbilt after missing the previous game due to injury.

Ole Miss coach Pete Golding announced Monday that star running back Kewan Lacy is expected to return for Saturday's game against Vanderbilt.
Lacy left the Rebels' win over LSU in the first half with an undisclosed injury and was unable to play in the loss to Florida.
Golding noted that Lacy will not take on a heavy workload right away, emphasizing a rotation approach to manage his return.
Obviously [Lacy] rested all last week," Golding said. "He's not going to take the toll of 40 or 50 snaps, and all those things.
Lacy's return is timely as the Rebels come out of their bye week with a Week 6 game in Nashville.
"Was good for a solid week, not practicing. Practiced last night, came back. Did individual, did some team sessions. A lot of that was non-contact last week. Fully anticipate having him this week," Golding added.
Lacy has rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns this season on 39 carries, coming off a 2025 campaign where he was the Rebels' leading rusher with more than 306 carries for 1,564 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Against Florida, star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss ended up the team's leading rusher with 44 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
"That's going to be a constant rotation based on how [Lacy] is, and how healthy he is," Golding said.
Lacy sustained a bone bruise in Ole Miss' season-opening win over Louisville but was able to play against Charlotte the following week.
The star tailback was able to rest during the team's bye last week.
"But even coming back, he's not going to take the toll of 40 or 50 snaps, and all those things," Golding said.
What this adds
Lacy's return is expected to provide a more balanced attack for the Rebels.

What's confirmed
- "Obviously [Lacy] rested all last week," Ole Miss coach Pete Golding said in his Monday press conference.
- Against Florida, star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss ended up the team's leading rusher with 44 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, and he will be glad to have his star running back alongside him in the backfield again this week in Nashville.
- "Was good for a solid week, not practicing. Practiced last night, came back. Did individual, did some team sessions. A lot of that was non-contact last week. Fully anticipate having him this week."

- "That's going to be a constant rotation based on how [Lacy] is, and how healthy he is," Golding said.
- Lacy missed the Rebels' 52-28 loss at Florida on Sept.
- "But even coming back, he's not going to take the toll of 40 or 50 snaps, and all those things." JT Lindsey, a former LSU transfer, and Makhi Frazier, who transferred from Michigan State, split carries against the Gators with Lacy out.
What's still developing
- Ole Miss had a well-timed bye week in Week 5 to reset after an emotional early-season rollercoaster saw them beat Lane Kiffin and LSU before traveling to Gainesville, where they were dominated by Florida.
- But they'd like to have a more balanced attack and will hope Lacy's return provides that going forward.
- After a strong offseason and training camp, the Baltimore Ravens will be without rookie star wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane in the coming weeks.
- Lane could reportedly undergo surgery as early as Wednesday and is expected to miss nearly a month of action.
- Following high expectations for his rookie season, all eyes now shift toward his timeline to get back on the field.
- A one-month timeline could force Lane to miss games against the Saints, Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons.
- Raiders All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers underwent a meniscus trim Tuesday in Dallas with Dr. Daniel Cooper and now is expected to miss “a game or two”, league sources told @rapsheet and me.
- It’s never good for your star player to suffer a knee injury, but what happened with Brock Bowers could be worse down the line.
- The Las Vegas Raiders got brutal news on Wednesday afternoon with star tight end Brock Bowers, as he will miss the first game or two with a knee injury.
- Bowers got banged up “a little in camp” and the injury was diagnosed last week and surgery… pic.twitter.com/42ANGHbYSC That means Bowers will miss Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins and possibly next week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
