El Sayed Announces Campaign Stops With Obama, AOC, and Mamdani
Developing
In Short: Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul el Sayed will campaign with former President Obama, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul el Sayed announced new campaign stops featuring former President Barack Obama, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). With less than 30 days until the general election, el Sayed is pulling out all the stops to secure support.
El Sayed will campaign with Obama and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson in Detroit on Oct. 24. While Obama has not officially endorsed el Sayed, his presence at the event suggests he may be ready to throw his support behind the candidate.
El Sayed will also campaign with Mamdani and Ocasio-Cortez in New York on Monday. Both Mamdani and Ocasio-Cortez have proven adept at fundraising, which could be crucial for el Sayed’s campaign.
Obama has lent his star power to Democrats facing tight races in the midterm elections, appearing alongside Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico in May and in a campaign ad with Iowa Democrat Josh Turek. He has officially endorsed Turek, Talarico, and Texas Democratic gubernatorial nominee Gina Hinojosa.
The Rogers war room account responded to el Sayed's campaign plans with a tweet, "We already know your boy going to NYC to raise MORE money from billionaires today."
Background
Vice President Kamala Harris will campaign with Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan next week, focusing on Black maternal health, according to Harris' spokesperson Eduardo Negrón.
