Kelker-Kelly took over the role of Bo Brady in 1996, following Peter Reckell's departure, and earned two Soap Opera Digest Awards for his performances.

Kelker-Kelly's death was sudden, with TMZ reporting that he had been complaining of chest pain before his passing. The St. Peters Police Department responded to his home around 8:16 PM on October 3, finding him unconscious and not breathing.
