Chiefs Eye Tyreek Hill Reunion Amid Injuries
Confirmed
In Short: Kansas City Chiefs expressed interest in signing former WR Tyreek Hill after injuries to Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid reported that wide receiver Rashee Rice exited Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders with a hamstring tweak, joining Tyquan Thornton, who suffered a dislocated left ankle.
According to Michael Silver of The Athletic, high-ranking Chiefs sources confirmed Sunday night that the team is very interested in signing Hill.
Silver reported that Kansas City had already reached out to Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, before the game.
Hill, who played for the Chiefs from 2016 to 2022, recorded 479 receptions for 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns during his tenure.
Travis Kelce, a Chiefs tight end, expressed enthusiasm about a potential reunion, saying, “That’s out of my hands, but I know I’d love to have the cheetah (Tyreek Hill) back in the building.”
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, when asked about the possibility, responded, “I have no idea, but it’d be pretty cool.”
The Chiefs’ interest in Hill intensified after the team’s Week 4 win over the Raiders, where they lost two wide receivers to injuries.
Hill was selected by the Chiefs in the 2016 NFL Draft and played a pivotal role in their Super Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
In 2025, Hill was released by the Miami Dolphins after suffering a season-ending knee injury.
Hill is targeting a November return, and his familiarity with Reid and the Chiefs’ offense could facilitate his transition back onto the field.
ESPN reported that the Chiefs have remained in contact with Hill and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
Reid commented on Thornton's injury, saying, “That doesn’t look good.”
