Schefter: Harrison Jr Could Be Traded Before Deadline
Confirmed
In Short: ESPN's Adam Schefter reported this week that the Arizona Cardinals are open to trade talks for wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., though the team is not enthusiastic about the idea.

Harrison, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, has struggled this season, catching just four passes for 73 yards in three games.
According to Schefter, other teams are doing their due diligence on Harrison, making a trade before the Nov. trade deadline a possibility.
Despite his slow start, Harrison is still seen as a valuable asset. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler noted that the Cardinals' 2024 No. 4 pick could be on the table for Harrison.
Some NFL executives believe Harrison needs a change of scenery to reach his potential. 'When you get injured, stop seeing the ball, have drops and not in the most stable quarterback position to help get that page turned, it can weigh on young guys,' one AFC executive told Jones.
Harrison's struggles have been surprising given his pedigree. 'I don't think one scout expected this. I didn't see all the drops and lack of competing [in college],' one team evaluator pointed out.
The Cardinals have not yet shown eagerness to trade Harrison, but with his performance so far, other teams are still assessing his value.
Potential landing spots for Harrison include the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have reportedly grown open to a trade involving a former second-round pick.
Harrison will have the opportunity to rebound when the Cardinals play the New York Giants in Week 4.
Trade speculation continues to build as Harrison's future with the Cardinals remains uncertain.

What's still developing
- ESPN's Jeremy Fowler recently reported that tight end Trey McBride and wide receiver Michael Wilson "are clearly the Cardinals' primary options," and the 2024 No. 4 pick "would have a market, though not for a high pick (possibly a quality Day 3 pick, as one team forecasted)."

- Schefter reported that with Mack hoping to compete for his first championship ring at this stage in his career, the Chargers "need to turn it around to keep him."

- However, they're not "enthralled" by the prospect of moving the struggling wide receiver.
- Few observers could have anticipated Harrison surfacing as a trade candidate so early in his career when the Cardinals made him the No.
- Schefer's ESPN colleagues also raised the possibility of a Harrison trade this week.
