Ravens' Jackson Suffers Ankle Injury in Titans Game
Confirmed
In Short: Lamar Jackson left Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans with an ankle injury, handing the quarterback role to Tyler Huntley.

Lamar Jackson left Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans with an ankle injury, handing the quarterback role to Tyler Huntley. Jackson was injured on the second-to-last play of the first half, when he was sacked from behind by Titans defensive end Jermaine Johnson II.
Jackson was having a stellar game at that point, completing 15 of 20 passes (75%) for 222 yards and two touchdowns. However, he suffered the injury on the second-to-last play of the first half, when Johnson II sacked him and appeared to twist his ankle.
Head coach Jesse Minter told reporters after the game that the team doesn't know the extent of Jackson's ankle injury, but they did discuss allowing him to re-enter the game in the second half. Minter said there was discussion about putting Jackson back in the game, but he stayed on the bench while Baltimore did just enough to win.
Tyler Huntley started the second half of the Baltimore Ravens' Week 4, 24-18 victory against the Titans. Huntley completed 8-of-9 passes for 63 yards and rushed four times for 16 yards in the final two quarters, but the Ravens did not score any points.
Jackson entered Sunday with 745 passing yards, four touchdowns and one interception through three weeks. He was off to a hot start before leaving, and was on the sideline without a helmet during the Ravens’ first possession of the third quarter, with Baltimore holding a 24-7 lead at the time.
The Ravens ruled out three players: cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf), right guard Andrew Vorhees (foot) and tight end Durham Smythe (Achilles). The team will also move forward without centers Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic after both suffered injuries in Week 3.
Jackson is in the second to last year of a five-year, $260 million contract he signed in March 2023. Injuries have been an issue at times for Jackson, a two-time MVP. He missed four games last year, and the Ravens went only 2-2 in his absence. In 2021, Jackson missed five games, and the Ravens went 1-4 without him, missing the playoffs.
The Ravens entered this season with high expectations despite parting ways with previous head coach John Harbaugh. The team will continue to monitor and treat Jackson this week, with his status considered day-to-day.
