The NFLPA Executive Director JC Tretter called for the NFL to hold the official accountable, stating, "This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable."

Tretter added, "Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard."

The incident occurred during a play where New York’s Dru Phillips made contact with McBride before he caught a pass from Jacoby Brissett on a third-and-2 play late in the game.

McBride was seen shaking his head in disappointment after a Cardinals staffer tried to disengage the situation.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported that the NFL is reviewing the situation.

The incident has sparked discussions about a double standard in officiating, with fans pointing out that officials are not held to the same accountability as players.

Some also noted that McBride pointed to the camera during the altercation, further drawing attention to the incident.
