Sorkin: Eisenberg's Zuckerberg Rejection 'Never Occurred
Developing
In Short: Aaron Sorkin, the director of 'The Social Reckoning,' revealed that it never occurred to him Jesse Eisenberg would not reprise his role as Mark Zuckerberg in the upcoming film.
Sorkin told Variety that he wrote himself an outline for conversations with Eisenberg, a practice he doesn't typically follow for his movies.
Despite Sorkin's efforts, Eisenberg declined to return, a decision Sorkin found infuriating.
Sorkin noted that Eisenberg's refusal was not motivated by money, as the actor had previously earned an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Zuckerberg in 'The Social Network' in 2010.
Sorkin tried to convince Eisenberg to take the role, but the actor remained firm in his decision.
The director admitted that even a substantial paycheck was not enough to sway Eisenberg's decision.
Eisenberg's refusal has become a hot topic in the film industry.
The Social Reckoning' stars Strong, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Billy Magnussen, Bill Burr, and more.
