Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor, a Heisman Trophy favorite, left Saturday's game against Alabama early in the fourth quarter after his team fell behind by three touchdowns.

Taylor was seen in a walking boot during meetings Friday, though ESPN's Sean McDonough reported it was precautionary. He injured his lower right leg during last week's win over Missouri.

Before exiting the game, Taylor became the first SEC player with three-plus passing touchdowns in five straight games since Jayden Daniels of LSU in 2023.

Nick Saban, Alabama's coach, said during ESPN's College GameDay that if he were still coaching, he would be trying to convince Taylor to enter the transfer portal.

Taylor's performance this season has seen him rise to third in Heisman Trophy odds, with two road wins and a 2-0 SEC start, including a victory over top-25 Missouri.
