In an interview with Pearle Maaney, Jason had previously spoken about his expectations from his father after he watched the film.
Vijay was on an election campaign roadshow in Madhurandhagam on Friday morning when a party volunteer handed him the framed photograph of his son.
Jason's sister and mother were at the theatre for the first-day-first-show of Sigma, while Jason had spoken about his father's reaction to the film in the days before its release.
